RELITE offers a number of training opportunities to its students as well as the entire
University of Ghana community. These training packages include the following:
Every Saturday, during the semester, between the hours of 4.30pm and 8pm, RELITE
students drawn from the University of Ghana campus who are part of the course are
hosted on the premises of the Legon Interdenominational Church for Discipleship and
The first hour is used for small group Bible studies where regular RELITE students
take disciples through a thematic Bible study on the glory of God through Genesis
to Revelation. During the next half hour when we all come together and our staff
take questions and give explanations.
Afterwards, the disciples leave and the students are taken through how to preach
the various Biblical genres.

For years Christianity has had a large following in Ghana, especially in the more
developed south. In the 2010 census 70% of Ghanaians indicated that they were Christians.
Of these only about 40% had any links with churches. However, only about 12% of
those with church links attended them on a regular basis.
In addition to this problem is the increasing level of unsound biblical messages
that are being aired daily on our radio stations.
Thus the greatest threat to Christianity in Ghana is not atheism or liberalism but
rather nominal-ism and unsound biblical teaching.
Thankfully there are many gifted, capable and available potential lay-leaders who
can be thoroughly equipped to ‘’to rightly handle the word of truth’’ (2 Timothy
Although nationally there are more than 30 denominational and inter-denominational
Bible colleges together with a range of TEE (distance Education) programmes run by
different denominations the need is still great. We have positioned ourselves to
complement these existing efforts aimed at equipping additional gifted leaders to
'rightly handle the word of truth'.
Who we are
RELITE Africa Ministry is a non-denominational / interdenominational non-profit making
organisation that trains committed and teachable lay preachers and Bible study leaders.
These trained people in turn help their church members (through small group discussions)
to observe what the Bible is saying, understand what it means and help them discover
how they can apply the truths learnt to their lives.
We endeavour not to just impart information but also to help these lay preachers
expound the word of God with accuracy, confidence and passion while applying it practically
to our African context. more ...
