Equipping those called to preach and teach

Who we are continued

We endeavour not to just impart information but also to help these lay preachers expound the word of God with accuracy, confidence and passion while applying it practically to our African context.

Towards this end, we aim to encourage a three-fold attitude towards the Bible;

Reading and studying it responsibly

Living it practically

Teaching it faithfully as God’s Word in our own words to our world.

Hence the acronym ‘RELITE’.

“For Ezra had set his heart to study the laws of the Lord and to do it and teach his statutes and rules in Israel”

What we do  continued

The ministry also runs discipleship training in small groups on weekdays which is open to the entire University community. Here, young Christians (beginners) are taken through fifteen lessons on the basics of the Christian faith. Maturing Christians are taken through lessons such as becoming like Jesus, Godliness etc. The aim of these studies is to impart Christ–likeness to the participants and then encourage them to pass this on to others. (2 Timothy 2:2)

Every year, in the month of January, RELITE hosts its students on the University of Ghana campus after the Christmas and New Year festivities for a two-week residential training.

During this time, visiting lecturers from the UK and other countries take the students through various Biblical themes aimed at making them more effective at handling the various genres of the Bible.
